Report from 1st District Councilmember – Tayna Fogle announced the change of date for the Planning Committee Meeting regarding the rezoning for a mobile home park expansion
The proclamation for Mr. Palmer will be held at the Lexington Senior Citizens Center 2 -7 pm
Report from 2nd District Councilmember- Shayla Lynch- Announced the Soccer Field is on pause to be rented until August- once all parties come together to ensure the association will have the availability to utilize the area for planned events. The second meeting will be held at St. Martin’s Village Day on July 27th.
The placement of additional speed bumps will be placed at the end of July 2024.
Rep. George Brown discussed the importance of voting and gave reasons why we should oppose Amendment 2 on the ballot in the November 2024 election.

Report from Business Manager – George Middleton- no report
Senate Reginal Thomas and Attorney Bruce Simpson attended the meeting and helped to shed some light on the rezoning issues for the mobile home park. It was agreed by the members of the association to give a retainer fee to the attornies to represent the association I’m opposing the zone changes for the mobile home park to preserve the historical foundation of St. Martin’s Village.
Motion by Michelle Gentry to pay the retainer amount for the attornies to represent the association in this matter. The full amount to be decided later and collected. The motion was seconded by Melody Lane and the motion was carried.
Rolonda Woolfolk of Georgetown St Area Neighborhood Association commented that we should ask 1st African Baptist and Community Action to provide transportation to the meeting on August 22nd.

Neighborhood Development Funds award us $1,725 for Honor or Recognition Bricks, which will be disbursed in about 4 to 6 weeks. To purchase a brick the cost is $65. We will complete the project after the new playground is finished. We were also rewarded money for the letters on the marquee.

St. Martin’s Village 2nd Annual Yard sale is Saturday, July 20th with a rain date of Saturday, July 27th.
Fayette MHC, LP is requested a meeting with the Saint Martin’s Village neighbors on Tuesday, July 23rd at First African Baptist Church at 6:30 pm.
Planning Commission public hearing for the zone change has been changed from July 25th to August 22nd at Council Chamber 2nd floor, Government Center 200 East Main Street at 1:30 pm.
St. Martins’s Village Day is Saturday, July 27th from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The construction of the new playground will begin after that on August 11th.
The gated property next to the park belongs to the Grace Apostolic Church working on getting a key in case of emergency.
